Near as I can tell, since I don't read Italian, A Year Ago in Winter just won the Rosa D'Oro Award in the Schermi d'Amore Film Festival in Verona.  If you know Italian, you can read about it here.

The German Film Awards were held Friday night in Berlin.  As expected, A Year Ago in Winter lost out on the award for best film to a tale about China's Oskar Schindler, but it did take the runner-up silver best film award (who knew that even existed?) and it won the award for best music.  Not a bad showing at all, especially when combined with the honors for best director and best young performer in the Bavarian Film Awards.

You can hear some of the music here:

Tango for Max
Lilli's Melody

The film also features this amazing song by Peter Gabriel:

Signal to Noise

The Film Premiere in Toronto

This is a photo of Caroline and me at the film premiere in Toronto.  Caroline has been incredibly generous throughout this entire process, always remembering to mention my name when she's interviewed.  (And she's interviewed a lot: a friend of mine was recently in Berlin, turned on her TV and found Caroline there talking about the book...)   Most people moan about their experience with film adaptation; for me, it's been pretty much of a dream.
